WHO WE ARE
The Society was born in 1997 at Bromsgrove Golf Club with four British Gas colleagues taking to the fairways. Craig Handford was a member of Harbourne Golf Club & invited Alan Smith, Phil Wing & Yogbir Grewal for their first game.
Alan & Phil struggled for 17 holes & were reluctant to even consider picking up the 'bats' again, but for the 18th & respectable par's, the golfing gods had hooked the lads.
Phil being Phil, could not just accept a round without some sort of wager or competition & set to work on creating the SGA Tour & here we are today; 25 years later & a thousand balls hit & most lost to the wilderness!
2025 Season Plans
MEMBERSHIP NOW OPEN!
Plans are well underway for the 2025 Season, with Andrew & James booking majority of events including a return to Puckrup Hall for the annual Presidents Cup!
subscriptions
The society funds are now are now looking healthy, but with continued rising costs, we have decided to continue with the £120 subscription & offer monthly payments if required.
A membership poll will be published soon!
green fees
Green fees continue to rise & we will be using the subscriptions to maintain the £40 threshold (apart for the Tour Championship)
